Data Engineer

ShopAdvisor, Inc. is looking for a Data Engineer to help manage the big data pipelines that power our web services platform. If you’re a data jockey with the desire to work on complex, cloud-based data systems using the latest technologies, then you might be a good fit for our growing team. We need a passionate individual to help us scale our data intake systems, refine our analytics and reporting capabilities, and better automate our data pipelines. This individual will be utilizing Kinesis, Redshift, Cassandra, Aurora, Redis, and more to process shopper profiles, aggregate inventory data, and provide critical business intelligence reports.

We work with brands and retailers to power innovative mobile proximity campaigns. In this position, you’ll work with a strong, collaborative team, led by Jeff Papows, former CEO of Lotus, and backed by a board loaded with industry experts. ShopAdvisor recently acquired Retailigence, dramatically increasing our market share and opening up new opportunities for rapid company growth.

You’ll be working in an open-concept office at a restored mill building offering a fun and friendly environment with flexible work hours and unlimited snacks. Responsibilities / What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage daily data intake and transformation processes from third-party sources
  • Participate in technical design, development, implementation and support of new data intake systems and processes
  • Manage nightly ETL tasks for analytics reporting, user profile aggregations, etc.
  • Automate data tasks and processes
  • Oversee data quality standards and data verification processes
  • Provide analytics reports and other data visualizations for customers, sales, and management
  • Provide oversight during implementations into production and monitor operating efficiency of existing data systems
  • Troubleshoot and correct production issues in emergency type situations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields
  • Strong relational and NoSQL databases skills (MySQL, Postgres, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc.)
  • Experience with BI and/or reporting tools such as Periscope Data, Tableau, etc.
  • Development experience with multiple programming languages (e.g. Ruby, Python, Bash, JavaScript, PHP, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Amazon Web Services experience with data products including S3, DynamoDB, RedShift, Kinesis, Aurora, etc.
  • Knowledge of caching and search technologies such as Redis, ElasticSearch, etc.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, probability, and machine learning
  • Understanding of product identifiers (UPC, EAN, GTIN, etc)

  • Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs
  • Design and code programs, create test transactions and run software tests

  • Review requirements, design and implementation plans, and ensure that design and development is aligned with standards
  • Provide oversight during implementations into production and monitor operating efficiency of existing application systems
  • Troubleshoot and correct production issues in emergency type situations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Build environments: Maven, Git, Shell scripting

  • Understanding of product identifiers (UPC, EAN, GTIN, etc)

Sales Account Executive

ShopAdvisor, Inc. is seeking a sales account executive. Recently named one of the top nine companies using data to transform retail by CIO.com,  ShopAdvisor is an innovative  company, paving the way in state-of-the-art mobile marketing and proximity services. We work with agencies, app providers, brands, and retailers to create contextualized, drive-to-store consumer shopping experiences.

ShopAdvisor is introducing a new service for app providers, brands and retailers. This service, which provides intelligently contextualized product description, availability and location and other information for CPG and other retail products, is delivered via monthly subscription. The information, which is delivered via the ShopAdvisor API, is used to power mobile marketing campaigns that engage consumers on their smartphones and takes them from initial connection to in-store purchase. Primary users of the service will be app providers, brands, retailers and mall owner/operators.

Working closely with a high functioning marketing team, the candidate will be responsible for sourcing and developing prospects, conducting outbound communications (phone and email), pitching the service, developing proposals, and negotiating contracts.

Reporting to the SVP of Sales & Marketing, you’ll be working in an open-concept office at a restored mill building in Concord, MA offering a fun and friendly environments. Compensation includes a base salary and uncapped commission potential. Stock options are also available based on board approval. Additionally,ShopAdvisor provides excellent benefits including health and dental coverage, 401K and more than three weeks vacation.

Responsibilities / What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Grow and develop a prospect pipeline through new business development, executing outbound sales activities and leveraging outbound marketing lead generation tactics
  • Develop and manage a plan to support lead generation, engage a sales cycle, and achieve financial targets
  • Achieve quarterly and annual bookings and revenue quotas
  • Provide reliable weekly, monthly and quarterly pipeline and forecasts
  • Consistent use of company sales force/CRM application
  • Collaborate effectively with the colleagues on sales and marketing teams
  • Develop sales proposals
  • Work closely with SVP of Sales & Marketing and finance team in contract negotiations

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience selling SaaS marketing, data and media solutions and AdTech
  • Understanding of CPG and retail markets
  • Understanding of mobile marketing/commerce
  • Experience selling into and working with agencies and brands
  • Strong communication skills in all forms: written, presentations, negotiations
  • Positive, outgoing personality and ability to work well with others
